William Jed Powell
Jed left us on December 27, 2021, at the age of 32 in Jerome Idaho. He was born March 18, 1989, in Henderson, Nevada to William (Bill) Powell and Catherine (Cathy) Campbell Gross.
He was raised in Jerome and graduated from Jerome High School in 2007. He was active in FFA, rodeo, and boy scouts receiving his Eagle Scout Award.
He married the love of his life, Rachelle Marie Mix on August 14, 2009, in Twin Falls Idaho. They met in February 2009 in a church parking lot, when he helped get her car running. They have been inseparable ever since. This union was blessed with 3 children, Augustus G, Hannah, and Molly Joy. He adored and spent time with each of them. Jed loved his kids more than anything, they were his world.
He started working at a young age. He held many jobs, including Ron's tire shop, landscaping, and farming. After high school Jed was employed by the Eastern Idaho Railroad. This however, came to an end when he sustained a back injury, which affected his daily life. He loved the idea of having his own business, he accomplished this in 2014 when he became the owner/operator of Bar L Trucking.
Jed loved the outdoors: riding motorbikes, horses, and loved playing with his ropes. (He would rope anything, including children.) He loved spending time on a snowmobile in the mountains, and always included the kids when able. He was often found entertaining and playing with the kids, their friends, cousins, dogs, and the whole neighborhood.
Jed was always a social butterfly, a "Chatty Cathy" everyone he met became a friend. He could hold a conversation with a stranger for 2 hours, easy! He was quick to invite others over for a party, meal, or a beer.
Jed is survived by his adoring wife Rachelle Powell; his loving children: Augustus (8yrs), Hannah (6yrs), Molly (2yrs); Father Bill Powell (Kasse); Mother Cathy Gross (Dennis); Grandmothers Julia Zinie and Deanna Humbert. Brothers Jordon Powell, Jake Powell (Katherine), James Powell (Gracie), and Joshua Powell. Uncles Tom Powell (Michelle) and Robert Campbell and Aunts Selena Bordewyk (Bob), Donna Cummings (Nate) and Susanne Cooper (Aaron).
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Gerald Terry Powell; Grandfather Robert Campbell and his Great Granny Pauline Seeliger (GG);
Services will be held at the Demaray’s Jerome Memorial Chapel, 629 3rd Ave East, Jerome, Idaho on Sunday, January 2, 2022. at 3:00 PM with a Viewing preceding at 2 PM. Interment will be at the Jerome Cemetery at a later date.
