Orrin "Ben" Poole Jr. age 61, a resident of Hagerman Idaho, passed away on January 16, 2024, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center.
Ben was born August 22, 1962, at Poudre Valley Memorial Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, the son of Orville "Ben" Poole and Marian "Mickey" Erwanna Poole (née Sevier). He was raised and educated for the most part in Fort Collins, Colorado, but also lived in Walden, Colorado, and Tuscon, Arizona, in his childhood.
He married Christine Dawn Denning on November 28th, 1981, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Together, they raised 4 children.
He married his second wife, Maryann Hoffman, on September 14th, 2010. They loved exploring and raising their grandchildren.
Ben was a true jack of all trades. He worked in every form of construction, drove truck, ran youth development programs, and taught Sunday school. The majority of his adult life was spent as a maintenance and heavy machinery mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting in his youth. He loved to build, mentor, minister, cook, sing, and especially loved creating one-of-a-kind custom walking sticks for friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Maryann Poole (née Hoffman), his ex-wife Christine Hannah, daughter Brittany Poole, son Cody Poole, daughter in law Morgan Poole (née Brattain), daughter Lindsi Gill, daughter Loni Weich, stepdaughter Andrea Young, sister Debbie Nix, sister Kathey Delaney, grandson Patrick O'dell, grandson Maverick Poole, stepgranddaughter Takota Sibley, stepgrandson Bryant Sibley, uncle Leon Poole, uncle Dale Poole, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mickey Poole, and father, Ben Poole Sr.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 28th, 2024, at Calvary Chapel in Hagerman, Idaho, with a potluck to follow at the American Legion Hall in Hagerman, Idaho.
