MARVIN R. MOORHEAD

Marvin Roger Moorhead of Kimberley, Idaho went to be with the Lord on Veteran’s Day, passing away in his sleep in the early morning hours of November 11 th , 2023. Born in Gooding on May 2, 1930, he was the youngest child of Ella and Harry Moorhead who had settled in the Tuttle area. After serving in the Army during the Korean War he returned to Idaho and married Virginia Cullison on November 25, 1955. They spent the next 61 years together, raising four sons while living in Jerome, Caldwell, Boise, McCall, Wendell and their home away from home Winnebago.

Marvin took over the family trucking business in his early years but found that he could do better fixing trucks than driving
them. He spent the majority of his vocational career as a diesel mechanic working for Arnold Machinery, the Tamarack Mill and Kenworth. He loved going for long scenic drives on a whim, winning card games, hunting Elk in the Fall, solving crazy hard Sudoku puzzles, going to the Fiesta Bowl to cheer on the BSU Broncos, adventuring with the Twin Falls Blue Birds in their RV, riding four-wheelers, trading trucks and cars, and being with all his family for backyard barbeques. His sense of humor, easy going disposition and warm embrace will be missed by many.

He is survived by his sons Randy (Leslie), Russell (Maryann), Roger, Jon Paul (Stacia), sister-in-law Connie (Don) Buker, 11
grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Virginia, two older brothers and their wives: Harris “Jack” and Erika Moorhead and Richard “Dick” and Lois Moorhead, a sister Maxine who died as a newborn and sister-in-law JoAnn Wike-Doughty.

Per Marvin’s request, no services will be held. Demaray’s Jerome Memorial Chapel is assisting in honoring Marvin’s final
wishes.
