Lyndel was born in Lewiston Idaho and lived in the Juliaetta-Kendrick area until the family returned to the Twin Falls area in 1990. He attended schools in Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 2003. During his childhood and high school years he was very active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts Troop 65. He moved through his ranks receiving recognition at each level. While in scouting he had many adventures and made numerous friends at camps throughout Idaho and the northwest, local campouts, Klondike Derbys, Pinewood Derbys, food drives and pancake dinner fund raisers. During his scouting years he showed compassion for others wellbeing before his own pleasures. He was given special acknowledgements for this characteristic including an award for caring for his ailing grandfather. His goal in Boy Scouts wasn't so much to complete his project for Eagle as it was to make sure each of his fellow scouts were able to complete their projects and get their awards. He culminated his Scouting experience by achieving his Eagle Award.
During his teens he enjoyed his involvement with DECA at school including state conferences and he ran cross country and lettered in the sport. He was active in church youth at the Church of the Nazarene including retreats and a national youth conference and Bible quizzing. He later coached the younger Bible quizzers and worked with the Upwards sports program.
He met his soulmate and love of his life Tiffany Taylor in 2006 while working together at Tomato’s restaurant. Lyndel and Tiffany welcomed Kolten into their lives in 2007 and Karsten in 2012. Kolten recalls many enjoyable dinners with his family at Tomato's in his younger years.
Lyndel’s passion in life was being the best dad possible and providing for his family not only financially but with experiences and memories. His family believes he accomplished this goal.
Lyndel began his working career at a very young age while working in his family's concession business. He continued helping into his early adulthood. He enjoyed the world of cooking and food service. As his children grew his career changed to the technology industry where he worked and managed a crew installing Dish network. He then transitioned into service with Magic Valley Alarm Systems where he felt he found his niche in life.
Lyndel's hobbies included cooking, finding amazing recipes to try, fishing, camping, hunting and outdoor activities. He enjoyed watching football and loved his Packers. Go Pack Go! He loved everything auto related. He rode motorcycles and was into fast and loud cars. He participated in a car club where he liked to meet and work on cars with his fellow enthusiasts.
Lyndel was known for his giving heart, and always making sure everyone he loved or had just met had what they needed. We’re finding that he touched lives of more people than we could have imagined.
Lyndel, God holds you in his arms but we will always hold you in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to the education fund for Kolten and Karsten.
