L. Theresia Tubbs

Leontina Theresia Tubbs, known to her friends as Theresia,  passed on April 13th at Grace Assisted Living in Twin Falls at the age 96.  Born at home in Jerome to Johannes and Veronica Ehrmantraut, she lived her entire life in Jerome, other than the last few years at Grace.

Theresia was the last and sole surviving child of the 3 girls and 9 boys born to Johannes and Veronica.  As a child, Theresia hoed crops, milked cows and helped her mom at home, while she attended school in Wendell and Jerome.  She was the first and only child to graduate from high school.

Having a beautiful singing voice, she sang in and later directed the church choir at St Jerome Catholic Church, and sang for numerous weddings and funerals.  Her home was a gathering place for family and friends, where she cooked delicious meals and her specialty sugar cookies.

In 1947, Theresia Ehrmantraut married Jack Leland Tubbs, a veteran of WWII.  They had two sons, Dennis and Steve, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom survive her—Jami Tubbs and her children Steel, River and Chance, Jr., and Shaun Tubbs, and his children Cobin and Bryndon.

Though small in stature, Theresia was a loving force to be dealt with and a special aunt to many. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack, who spoiled her to no end.  She will be missed by many!

A Rosary will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 7:00 pm at St. Jerome Catholic Church.  Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Jerome Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at the Jerome Cemetery
