JOHN B. TOLEDO

John B. Toledo, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2025, surrounded by his immediate family. He was a loving husband to Maria Nilza Toledo and a devoted father to his son Johnny M. Toledo. 
He was born November 1st, 1948 in Raminho, Açores Portugal, the son of João Machado Toledo and Entalvina Berbereira Toledo. 
He lived in Raminho as a young farmer passionate about dairy cattle. 
In 1967, John immigrated to Porterville, California working on his cousin’s family dairy (Borba Dairy). During this time he was courting through written letters, a young woman who lived one house away from him back in Raminho. In 1970 he traveled there to marry Maria and bring her back to their first home together in Porterville, CA. 
Their son Johnny was born in 1975 in Ontario, CA. One year later. John started his real adventure when he loaded up his young son and wife into a cattle truck and the three of them traveled to Timnath, CO. Timnath is where he started his first family-owned dairy business. Shortly after that, John moved his family to Wiggins, CO where he established and operated Toledo Dairy for nineteen years. 
In 1995 John spread his roots even further by moving his family and business to the Magic Valley and Treasure Valley areas. 
Overall John enjoyed 48 wonderful years following his life passion.
John will be remembered as a wonderful man who was always willing to help individuals and his community. He always looked forward to his yearly vacations to his “Old County”. John also loved celebrating his cultural traditions at the Magic Valley Portuguese Hall and was very devoted to the Holy Spirit. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
John is survived by his wife, Maria Nilza Toledo; their son, Johnny M. Toledo; his sibling, Sr. Elvira Maria Toledo; sister-in-law, Maria Guilhermina Barcelos; nephew, Adriano Romeiro; and many more beloved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, João Machado Toledo; his mother, Entalvina Berbereira Toledo; father-in-law, Manuel Romeiro; mother-in-law, Nair de Jesus Rocha; and brother-in-law, Adriel Romeiro.

A rosary will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20th, 2025 immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 216 2nd Ave East, Jerome, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses be offered for the repose of the soul of John.
