Gus Flowers passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at his residence in Jerome Idaho. Gus was the firstborn son of Gus Sr and Rachel Flowers born February 23, 1941, in Compton, Boone County Arkansas. They moved to Jerome Idaho where Gus attended grade school through High School.
Gus met the love of his life, Louise Hanby, in Albion Idaho when they were both attending the Magic Valley Christian College. They were married in 1962 and had a life full of adventure together. Although Gus was educated and received a teaching degree in history, he followed his passion for art and became a full-time sculptor in the 1970s. His artistic success took him worldwide where his art was procured by many a collector.
Gus, along with his family, enjoyed the outdoors and whenever possible they were out hunting, fishing, camping, or sitting around the campfire telling stories.
He was loved by all who met him, and he will be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and great papa, a best friend, mentor, helper, philanthropist, and down-to-earth good buddy. He is preceded in death by his son, Steven Flowers, his brother, Brian Flowers, & parents, Gus and Rachel (Petree) Flowers. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Louise Hanby Flowers; his son, David (Cyndi) Flowers; daughter, Cindy Flowers, grandchildren, Ryan Flowers, Teasha (Mark) Lewis, Shaylee Thiemann.
