Ethan Scott Jacobson, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 1st, 2024, in Twin Falls, ID, at the age of 23. Born on June 27, 2001, in Elko, NV to Mark Ivan Jacobson and Jessica Jacobson, Ethan's life was a tapestry of passions and dreams, cut tragically short.

Ethan's inquisitive mind and gentle spirit led him to explore a myriad of interests. He found joy in creating certain culinary delights, crafting artisanal bread, ramen noodles, and delectable brownie cookies. His love for nature blossomed in his passion for plants and gardening, where he sought to understand the intricate workings of the natural world. Animals held a special place in his heart, their companionship a source of solace and delight. In his middle school years and thereafter, his musical interests blossomed into a passion that never left him.

A lifelong learner, he developed considerable knowledge and understanding of the Bible, with a deep faith and spiritual connection with Christianity through his childhood. Often found wandering through the house with a book in hand, Ethan's passion for reading and writing was a river of ink, flowing through his heart and onto the pages of his life. His sheer creativity shone through in both the stories he told and chose to read. Ethan's curiosity extended to the realm of technology. He was captivated by the intricacies of video game design, a passion that fueled his interest in web development and the boundless potential of digital creation. He had a fascination with the sciences, and the scientific method for seeking truth. He loved philosophical concepts and dreamed of a world where technology served to uplift and connect, envisioning innovative solutions for social progress, such as workplace reform and greater care for workers.

Ethan's kind heart, quick wit, and loyalty touched the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but his memory will forever be cherished by his loving parents, Mark Ivan and Jessica Jacobson; his sister, Allison (Hector); and brothers, Treyton and Sean. He is also deeply mourned by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Sheila Myers, his paternal grandfather, Mark Matlock, and a wide circle of family and friends who were fortunate to have shared in his life. Ethan was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Naomi Matlock.

A celebration of Ethan's life will be held on July 20, 2024, at 1:00pm at the Church of Christ, located at 795 Green St., Craig, Colorado. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Orton Botanical Gardens in Twin Falls, Idaho or Cavies and Canines Rescue via Paypal (caviesandcanines@gmail.com), in honor of Ethan's compassionate spirit and his belief in the potential of a brighter future for all.

Though Ethan's journey has ended, his legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering passion will continue to inspire those who were touched by his brilliance. May we find solace and peace in the memories we shared.
