Ada Marie Stanfield Ashton, age 85, of Shoshone, Idaho, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024.
She was born June 26, 1938, in Alton, Kansas, to Lincoln and Maude Stanfield. Ada was the second youngest of 16 siblings, the youngest being herlooking-glass twin, Adel Devine, who passed two months prior. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Val Ashton, in 2006.
Ada left Salina, Kansas in 1984 to Shoshone, Idaho where she met her husband and was the happiest she had ever been living on the ranch with their Brahman cattle, dogs, and her favorite the kitty cats. Ada was always highly talented; she was Majorette in the High School band and could play the honky tonk piano like nobody’s business. Ada was also very active outdoors, where she enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, skeet, and trap shooting. She was fun-loving and knew every joke.
Ada is survived by her two sons, Mike Berry, Stan (Vicki) Nichols, and daughter Jennice (Keith) Naegele, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
We want to thank Desano Place for their excellent care and patience with Ada’s Dementia and her ornery ways.
There is no formal service per Ada’s request, but a Celebration of Life will take place this summer at her beloved ranch.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray's Jerome Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the West Magic Lake Dam Fools club.
